Each side has a square alabaster panel carved with an icon of the Christian church, painted and gilded. The icons represent resurrection and new life.

Churchyard Cross

Churchyard Cross

14th century four-sided lantern style gabled head with a single shaft positioned on a socket stone with a square three step (Calvary) base.
Mutilation in 16th century, possibly in the Protestant period during the reigns of King Henry VIII and Edward VI.
Needing essential repairs and as a scheduled ancient monument, a grant was obtained from Historic England. The Cross was 3D scanned, with the repairs completed in February 2019.
